Jordi Chanovas Colomé

He was born in Tortosa in 1995. In 2017, he obtained a Bachelor´s Degree in Human Biology from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Since 2014 until 2017, he interned at the laboratory of M. Victoria Puig, PhD at the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute, in Barcelona. He studied spiking activity changes induced by antipsychotic drugs in mice. In 2015 and 2016 he was awarded with the Summer Research fellowship by the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center and conducted research at the laboratories of Susana Martinez-Conde, PhD and Stephen L. Macknik, PhD. He studied the neural bases of visual awareness performing data analysis for a case study with one of the last living bilateral frontal lobotomy patients in the Western world, and he conducted the associated experiments using age-matched neurotypical subjects  He is currently a PhD Student in Neural & Behavioral Science at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He intends to study the mechanistic workings of neural circuits, with respect to both perception and behavior.
