Jordi Ballesteros Soberanas

Born in Tarragona in 1995. He graduated from Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona as a chemical engineer. He spent some time during his undergraduate working for the University of Michigan under the supervision of Professor H. Scott Fogler as a researcher in the field of asphaltene characterization and deposition for crude oils from the Gulf of Mexico, U.S. and Canada. He spent his senior undergraduate year at the Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland, gaining experience in entrepreneurship in the start-up world. He accepted the Balsells Graduate Fellowship and got his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado. During his stay as a graduate student in the US he worked in heterogeneous gas phase catalysis under the supervision of Professor J. Will Medlin. Now, thanks to the INPhINIT fellowship, he continues his work in catalysis, with a stronger focus in sub-nanometric metal clusters in the ITQ.
