Amelia Jiménez Sánchez

Born in Almería (Spain) in 1992. In 2015 obtains a Bachelor Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Granada. During her undergraduate studies, she does an exchange year at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany). After the completion of her degree, she joined the Audio Information Processing group at the Technical University of Munich, where she worked on a project that aimed at determining localization cues that could improve the performance of cochlear hearing implants. Between 2015 and 2017, she does a M. Sc. in Biomedical Computing at the Technical University of Munich, with a qualification of Distinction. Her Master Thesis, entitled "Weakly-Supervised Anomaly Detection assisted by Attention Models", aimed at improving the diagnosis of anomalies in images using attention models. Currently, she pursues a PhD in the Simulation, Imaging and Modeling for Biomedical Systems (SIMBIOsys) group at the University Pompeu Fabra. Her research interests lie at the intersection of computer vision and medical image analysis, in particular, using machine learning and deep learning techniques.
